Mark McDonald

Mark is a partner of Pollen Street and joined the team in 2026 to lead the development of the firm’s capabilities in GP-led secondaries and bespoke structured capital transactions. He has over 20 years of experience across direct PE investing, secondaries and complex GP-led & structured transactions.

He was formerly co-head of the Sponsor Solutions business within Brookfield’s global private equity group, Managing Partner of DWS’s global private equity business and a board member of DWS Alternatives Global Ltd. Prior to this, he held a number of senior roles in private equity with firms including 3i, Pomona Capital, Keyhaven Capital Partners and Credit Suisse, where was global head of secondaries advisory.

Mark holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi, Milan and an honours degree in Economics & Politics from the University of Leeds. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and The Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House. Mark also Chairs the Board of Trustees for a London-based children’s charity.
